Morman Wolfred Kittson 1814 - 1888, Fur Trader; Born In Chambly, Lower Canada; Son Of George And Nancy Kittson; Married Elise, Daughter Of Narcisse Marion. In 1830, Joined American Fur Company In The West And In 1843, Became A Partner In The Company Located In The Pembina Area. In 1860, He Established A Line Of Steamers And Barges On The Red River And With James J. Hill, Gradually Obtained A Monopoly Over Transportation Between St. Paul And The Red River Settlement. Company Was Later Know As The Red River Transportation Company. He Died May 10, 1888 |
