Dakota Outfit Owned By Tom Aiken, Park River, Nd, Who Threshed From West Of Rocanville To Woodleigh District, 10 Miles West From 1907 -1913. Speed Was Their Byword. A "Walking Boss" Went Ahead And Booked The Work. The Outfit Was Moved Across The Country From North Dakota, Approximately 150 Miles, Under Its Own Power, At 2 - 3 Miles Per Hour, 50 - 60 Hours Travel Time. They Would Not Even Take Time To Turn The Engine Around For Moving. They Operated In Reverse Hooked Front End Of Engine To Separator Pole. Photo Courtesy Fred T. Surridge, Woodleigh District |
