He Said Contradictory Information The Province Gave To Two Federal Government Bodies Killed The $175 Million Deal For The Purchase Of I.C.G.'S Manitoba Gas Distribution System. A Ruling From Revenue Canada Said That Because The Sale Was Agreed To Before June, The Deal Was Exempt From The New Tax Levy, Which Would Have Amounted To Federal Sales Tax Of $20 - $34 Million. The Province Told Revenue Canada It Had Agreed To Purchase The Utility, But A National Energy Board Hearing Was Told Last Summer That A Deal Had Not Been Reached.
