title: Aboriginal camp at Oxford House, Manitoba with a York Boat in the water fitted for sail, and to the right a person with an axe.
description: The canoes are Western Woods Cree showing an Ojibway style influence in the protruding prows, which was often the case. The traditional Cree design had a straighter stem, more common for calm water areas. This same general model was shared with the Western Woods Cree, Swampy Cree, James Bay Cree, and the Montagnais.
