description: Ernie Symons' First Tractor, A Child'S Toy Homemade Tractor. It Was Originally A German Made Stationary Steam Engine On A Cast Iron Base From Colonial House, Montreal In C1908. The Boy Was Not Satisfied Until It Was Made Into A Tractor. Frame And All Other Parts Made Up Of Galvaized Iron Wheels And All. Gears From A Cash Register From The Burned Out Queens Hotel, Wapella, Sk, In 1905 - 1906. It Had Chain And Roller Steering, And Actually Moved By Itself. The Tractor Was Complete In About 1910. It Was All Soldered Together. Photo Taken In The Living Room Of The Old Farmhouse. Designed & Built By E. Symons
