He Was Selected To Compete For Canada At The 1936 Olympic Games In Berlin, But Was Unable To Attend. Following His Competitive Career, He Put His Efforts Into The Organizational End Of The Sport And Was A Prime Mover Behind The 1949 Winniipeg Winter Club Building Program. He Was Named Chairman For The Aquatic Committee For The 1967 Pan American Games. Pan Am Pool Stands As A Legacy To Ford And Others. He Was Inducted Into The Manitoba Sports Hall Of Fame November 15, 1986
