Prior To Leaving For Canada He Worked On A Farm And As A Telegrapher For Government Telegraph Service. He Served With British Army In South African War. Joined The Winnipeg Police Force Feb 5, 1905. Became Detective 1906, Detective Sertgeant In 1913, And Chief Of Detective Division In 1921. Served 42 Years On The Force. He Was Shrewd, Humorous,And A Popular After Dinner Speaker, And Was Considered One Of Canada'S Greatest Detctives.
