description: William (Bill) Shipley'S Second Threshing Outfit And Gang. There Are About Thirty People Including Two Women And A Child On The Load Of Sheaves Near The Separator. Bill Shipley Owned And Operated This Outfit From Approximately 1905 To 1915. Note The Blower Or Wind Stacker On The Separator Rather Than The Straw Carrier On His His Previous Threshing Outfit. The Normal Complement To Run This Outfit Efficiently Was 21 Or 22 Men. They Were As Follows: 8 Men With Teams Hauling Sheaves; 4 (Men) As Pitchers In The Field; 2 (Men) As Spike Pitchers At The Separator; 2 Or 3 Men Hauling Water For The Engine Depending On The Distance; 2 Men Hauling Grain; 1 Engine Fireman; One Engine Operator; And 1 Separator Operator.
