description: Dr. James Robert Jones, Born 1852 In Peterborough, Canada. He Received Md From Toronto School Of Medicine In 1878 And Received Lrcm (London) In 1879. He Came To Winnipeg In 1882. He Was One Of The Founders Of Manitoba Medical College And Became First Professor Of Medicine In 1883. He Was The Acting Dean Of The Medical College From 1898-1900. He Was A Member Of The First Board Of Health In 1893, And The First President Of The Manitoba Medical Association In 1908. His House And Office Were On Donald Street Near Holy Trinity Church. He Was A Member Of The Board Of Governors Of The University Of Manitoba And Medical Officer For Federal Immigration For Winnipeg. He Had A Widespread Private Practice. Died In St. Paul, Mn, In 1916 Where He Had Gone For Surgery And Died Of A Stroke Postoperatively In 1916
