Born 1848 In Port Stewart, County Antrim Ireland; Received M.A. From Dublin & Md, Ms From Queen'S University, Belfast In 1870; Became Surgeon To Londonderry Iron Mines In Nova Scotia Where He Remained For 5 Years; Moved To Montreal Then On To Winnipeg Where He Set Up A Practise In 1880; Was Appointed Medical Officer Of Health For The City Of Winnipeg As Well As Provincial Government To Check On The Health Of Immigrants In 1882. Manitoba Medical College Was Founded In 1883 And The Building Was Completed In The Fall Of 1884 In Time For Students To Begin Their Studies. Dr. Kerr Served As First Dean Of Manitoba Medical College
