At One Time It Was Common From The East Coast Of Maine To The St. Lawrence River At Quebec. The High Peaked Ends Designed To Help The Canoe Double As A Shelter, Eventually Evolved To Straight Stems And A Lower Gunwale Line By The End Of The 19th Century.
