| description: | In 1788, Lord Dorchester, Governor of Canada, invited the Chiefs ot the Mississauga to discuss the purchase of Toronto, the centre of the fur trade. The meeting took place abord the HMS "Seneca" which was anchored off the ruins of Fort Rouille, opposite the present Canadian National Exhibition grounds. Also present were Sir John Johnson, Commissioner of Indian Affairs; Colonel Buterl, veteran founder of Butler's Rangers; and Natanial Lines, interpreter.
