The Rebellion Of 1885 Broke Out In March When His "Army" A Detachment Of Nwmp Under Superintendent Crozier At Duck Lake, After Preliminary Skirmish At Fish Creek In April The Metis Under Dumont Were Finally Defeated In May At Batoche By Greatly Superior Forces Under General Middleton. Dumont Fled To Montana & Lived Several Years In Various Parts Of The Usa Until The Granting Of An Amnesty Allowed Him To Return To The Vicinity Of Batoche.
