Note the shooters in suits with simple shooting equipment, rifle ammunition, score record book, binoculars for spotting shots, signalling and scoring. The register keepers are in the background with blackboards, and letters "D," "E," and "F." Note shooters #2, 3, and 4, are sighting right through English Martin target aperture receiver sights pinned to bridge of rifle breech and action. Note the long leather slings from muzzle swivel, through middle barrel band swivel and around left arm and attached to forward swivel in front of trigger guard. These men had no ear muff sound protectors, no 10x shooting jackets, and no shooting mitts, but they could shoot. |
