Thomas Scott Served As Mayor Of Winnipeg, 1877-78. Borne In Lanark, On. In 1841. Educated In Perth. Entered Journalism At An Early Age. Founded Perth Expositor, Of Which He Was Editor And Publisher Until Moving To Manitoba In 1873. In 1870 He Was Appointed To Company In First Ontario Battalion Of Rifles, Forming Part Of The Expeditionary Force Commanded By Colonel Garnet Wolseley. Sent To Manitoba To Command An Expedition During Fenian Envasion Of Manitoba. On Outbreak Of North West Rebellion 0f 1885, He Organized The 95th Battalion, Which He Commanded Throughout The Campaign. He Sat In The Manitoba Assembly For Winnipeg From 1878-1880. Elected To House Of Commons, 1880-1887 |
