Box Contains Bones Of Father Jean-Pierre Aulneau S.J. And Jean-Baptiste La Verendrye Who Were Killed Along With 19 Of Their Companions On An Island In The Lake Of The Woods On June 6, 1736. Originally, The Bones Were Buried At Fort St. Charles And Recovered In The Early 1900s. They Were Then Stored At The St. Boniface College In 1912. The College Was Destroyed By Fire In 1922 And The Bones Were Rescued And Identified.
