description: Wellwood Consolidated School, Wellwood, Mb. School Had Grades 9, 10, 11, 12 And A Total Of 28 Students. School Was Built In 1917 With Four Classrooms, And A Full Basement. There Were Three Layers Of Brick. The Total Depth Of The Walls Was 20 Inches. District Children Were Brought To School In Horse-Drawn Vans. Each Rate Payer Could Drive A Van For So Many Days Depending On His Assessment In Lieu Of School Tax. A Unique System Developed By C.E. Titus Who Was The Secretary Of The School Board.
