description: Dr. R.B. Fergusson. Born In Lanark, Upper Canada In 1839. Graduated In Medicine From Queen'S University In 1863. Practised In Perth, On. Moved To Winnipeg In 1879. Was One Of The Founders Of Manitoba Medical College Where He Lectured On Obstetrics And Diseases Of Women. He Was A Surgeon To The Winnipeg General Hospital And Professor Of Midwifery At He Medical College. His Son Alexander, A Medical Student In The Second Class Of The College, Was Killed At Fish Creek In The North West Rebellion Of 1885. He Died January 11, 1890 From A Cold Which Developed Into Pneumonia During An Influenza Epidemic. Note The Style Of His Beard In This Photo
