description: Dr. Lennox G. Bell, Dean Of Manitoba Medical College, With Dr. William Boyd (On Right Of Photo). William Boyd, Born 1885, June 21 In Portbay, Scotland. He Graduated From Edinburgh With A Degree Of Mb. Ch. B. In 1908. He Held Appointments In Asylums And As Pathologist To The Royal Woverhampton Hospital. His Interest In Cerebrospinal Fluid Ended In A Book. He Joined The Ramc At The Begining Of Wwi And Was Later Invalided Out Of Service. Dr. Alex Gibson, A Classmate Persuaded Him To Be A Professor Of Pathology At The Manitoba Medical College In 1915. His Writings Became A Great Success. He Was Interested In Teaching And His Innovations Was A Museum Of Pathology. Which Developed In Winnipeg With A Collection Of Mounted Specimen, Photographs, Charts And X-Rays. He Moved To Toronto And Developed A New Museum. Museums Lost Favour In The Teaching Of Pathology. In 1937 He Was Prof. Of Pathology At The University Of Toronto And Retirement In 1954. He Received The Gold Headed Cane, Highest Honour Of The American Assoc. Of Pathologists And Bacteriologists & Honourary Degrees From Oslo, Norway, And U Of M. He Died March 1979
