description: The "Petrel" & The "Marvyl" Were Steamboats Used On Lake Manitoba To Haul Gypsum. Petrel Was Built In 1899 & Used At The Quarry At The Narrows. When This Quarry Closed In 1903, The "Petrel" Was Bought By The Gypsum Co Of Gypsumville & The "Marvyl" Was Built. Both Boats Were Used To Haul Gypsum From Gypsumville To Westbourne. They Ceased Operation In Fall Of 1910. Replaced By The Railroad In 1911, The Boats Then Sailed To Lake Winnipeg
