description: Gordie Mackie Was A Member Of The Royal Navy Reserve From 1940 - 1945. In 1949 He Graduated As A Certified Physiotherapist With Assistance From The Department Of Veteran Affairs. He Worked As A Boxing Instructor For The Winnipeg Ymca In 1949 And Went On To Own And Operate The St. Boniface Madison Boxing And Wrestling Club From 1950 -1960. From 1959 To 1969 He Was The Chief Therapist For The Canadian Football League'S Blue Bombers And Five Times Took Care Of The Cfl All Stars. In 1966 He Was One Of The Seven Founding Members Of The Canadian Athletic Therapist Association Which Has Grown To A National Organization With Over 4500 Professional And Associated Members. In 1970 He Worked As Therapist For The Canadian Davis Cup Team. He Worked As A Therapist For Canada'S Olympic Team In Munich In 1972. He Was Team Canada'S Therapist At Hockey'S Summit Series In 1974. He Was Inducted Into The Manitoba Sports Hall Of Fame In 1987
