description: Examples Of Early Stack-Wall (Stacked Logs) Construction Techniques In Manitoba. They Were Constructed In 1943 As Cottages For Visitors And Staff And Were Known Locally As The Arcade. The Second Floors Of The Two Buildings Were Added Only For Decoration. Local Logs Cut And Trimmed To 60 Centimetre Lengths Were Embedded In Mortar. This Type Of Construction Provides Excellent Insulation Value And The Technique Is Still Being Used Today In The Interlake Region
