description: Winnipeg'S First City Hall, Being Propped Up, Just Seven Years After Its Official Opening. It Was Built Over The Underground Brown'S Creek. The Building Started To Crack Even Before It Was Completed. But It Held Together Until The City Fathers Decided To Build On A Large Addition During The Winter Of 1882 - 1883. As Long As The Weather Was Cold The Building Seemed Fine, But As The Snow Melted So Did The Mortar. The Building Had To Be Demolished Later That Summer. With The Addition The City Hall Was Referred To The Second City Hall But It Was Actually The First City Hall With An Addition. Also In The Image Are A Covered Wagon & Red River Carts Pulled By Oxen. (Interesting Image)
