Camp Morton Chapel. The Camp Was Built In 1920 For Roman Catholic Children As A Summer Outdoor Religious Camp. It Was Named After Right Reverend Monsignor Thomas W. Morton, Its Founder And Developer. This Chapel Was One Of The First Buildings Erected And Was The Focal Point Of Camp Activity. The Original Building Was Of A Simple Design With A Cathedral Ceiling. Later The Sides Were Extended And The Interior Finished With Fir Boards. Stones From The Beach Were Cemented To Form The Italian Design For The Facade |
